Winter has come and many trees have got frozen. Unlucky for those trees that don’t have plenty of leaves; I wonder how they could survive. Nevertheless, those trees don’t seem to care for the seasons; just let it snow and freeze the world this morning, if they might say.
I stare at them from my window while enjoying the touch of particles of snow touch my face. Just about I start to feel the coldness coming around in my bedroom when my Mom downstair calls me quite loud reminding me to the Laundromat. Oh my. I actually I don’t forget it but this is the first day of my school holiday in welcoming winter and the weather is quite freezing. I am not sure I could speed up my bike to reach the Laundromat before daytime. I also imagine the road is so slippery for bikes. I really wished that Mom would have changed her mind this morning of asking me to do it.
Lazily walking down the stairs, I put on my thick cotton jacket and rubber gloves. It takes quite difficult to wear them since walking down the stairs in my rubber boots is not an easy thing to do. But I finally reach the kitchen where Mom has waited for me with a big glass of warm chocolate milk. Chocolate Milk? Oh, I love it! It is really my favorite drink. I used to drink it almost everyday when I was in elementary school and my Dad usually accompanied me with his coffee. But since there only two of us in this house after the car accident that took my beloved Dad from us for ever, I seldom drink it anymore. Though I always like it but my Mom has always seemed to be busy with her job and had no time to make me any single glass of it. I don’t blame her because I know being a single parent is really difficult and I am trying to do my best to be a part of her heart.
Smiling widely I reach my hand to the glass while looking at her. She smiles and nods her head when I thank her. She knows much actually what I need and what to make me happy. And I realize that Mom has never forgotten me. The most delicious drink in my life has already filled my belly and given me strength to do anything my Mom says. Alright, Mom, thank you so much and I am going now.
