This is not something related much to my way in teaching at home; it is rather much more on the experience when I am teaching at home.
Some of my students are still not coming therefore I could not start teaching the present kids. My brother, as usual, just stays upstairs with his console game whenever I have my students at home, and my mother is going to have some tea with his old friend in the city.
At glance I caught a shadow of someone in the garden. I thought it must be one of my students trying to get into the house from the backdoor. But when I walked out the door and looked around, there was nobody there. This time I did not pay much attention anymore about ‘the shadow’, so I preferred get back to the study room where my students were waiting for me.
I was opening my bag to take out a board marker when I saw beeping light from the adt home security voiceless monitor. What a ….? I thought really fast whether I had locked the front and garden doors and noticed nobody else were away from my site unless my brother upstairs. So, how could this gadget light? Was there an unexpected one sneaking into my house? Without any hesitation, I picked up my mobile and called the nearest security personnel and telling them simply. They said they were on their way.
Without making my students confused, though with very hard my heart beat, I started teaching. While waiting for the security, I kept trying to teach as if the had happened nothing. No one of students realized what happened at that time, until the security team came in from the back door and moved separately to clear off every single part of my house. After few moments, we found out the there had been a burglar trying to get into my house. The burglar noticed the alarm system installed at home and tried to deactivate it. Unfortunately, he did not recognize well the installed alarm so that the alarm sent me the beep. Knowing this, the burglar cancelled his action in my house and escaped.
Well, I am so glad that I have the alarm system for my home security installed.
