I think I could install it myself; however, the receiver parabola is not a cheap thing to get so I must think twice to do it. I’d rather contact the service people from Direct TV; they are the expertise on this matter.
A big wind blew so hard last night that my garden was in mess this morning; I thought nothing was damaged at home. A tree on the corner of the block stumbled down but luckily nothing was harmed, just the trunk was barricading the street and left a very slight space for people or bike to pass so I had to go to the office on my motorcycle. Never mind.
Until just when I arrived home in the afternoon did I find that my TV channels and programs from DirectTV were not in good performance, they were almost out of sight while others are just standard. What’s wrong? After checking sometime, I stepped out of the house and found that the outside receiver parabola is slightly tilted and crack on the supporting pole so the plate is not facing upward and indicator signal is not flashing.
Calling by phone the service of Directv does not take a long time. A nice voice of a girl greets tenderly mentioning Direct TV name and she then asks my purpose of calling there. It is only a quarter of hour after I closed the phone when a clean van from DirectTv stops and parks in front of my house. Two young but professional look men approach me and confirm my name and address and the complaint they have received. I confirm all and thank them for coming this late. Later on, I lead them to the garden where the trouble seems to come from.
At first, I thought that these guys would just like check the TV and the program inside the house, and calculate the possibility of repair then return here by tomorrow. But for my surprise, they just bickering around the parabola and set something. One of them is taking out a mini TV and connected it to the Directv receiver while the other is getting something from the van. I don’t think I will understand what they are doing so I prefer getting inside the house and prepare some drink for them.
Few moments after I finish preparing the drink, they come to me and ask if the programs and channels of DirectTv on my TV are already recovered. I glance at my TV and I find that the pictures on display are normal again. I nod my head happily. Gee, their work is excellent.
